Charnwood

Charnwood is a lush scout campground around two and a half hours drive north of Melbourne, just off the Hume.

Surrounded by beautiful country, with flat lakeside camping, onsite dorm-style rooms and lush green fields for the ceremony and dancefloor.

Schedule

The weekend

From 4pm Friday 19th of March until 10am Monday 22nd of March

  1. Friday

    Arrive & settle in

    Setting up camps, getting settled into accommodation. Welcome drinks in the evening, and a hot meal provided for dinner.

  2. Saturday

    The Ceremony

    Slow morning with some brekky included. Late morning Ceremony followed by lunch, speeches, and then the dancing begins.

  3. Sunday

    Struggle brunch

    Had a big night? We've got the solution! A delicious brunch will be waiting for you. Then an afternoon of dancing, some pack down, and a hot tub or a movie night.

Accommodation

Stay onsite

We encourage everyone to stay onsite for the weekend to best enjoy themselves. Camping is encouraged, pitch a tent or roll in with your campervan!

If you need a real bed, there's also bookable accomodation on-site through your RSVP. For other options, the closest towns are Benalla and Mansfield, both with hotels to suit a variety of budgets.

Note: The location is rural - there is no taxi or Uber, so make sure you have safe transport organised ahead of time.

Food & Drink

Eat, drink, repeat

We'll be serving all main meals from Friday dinner through to Sunday brunch, accounting for common dietary requirements.

Bring snacks and any extras you need between meals - there's a communal kitchen for use at any time.

We will have an open self-serve bar with beer, wine, sparkling and soft drinks. Maybe even a surprise or two! The weekend is also BYO - please bring whatever you desire to drink and share!

What to bring

Pack the essentials

  • Camping gear

    Tent, campervan, swag or RV - whatever way you like to sleep under the stars.

  • Warm layers

    Jumpers, beanies, a warm jacket and thermals if you feel the cold. A head torch for getting around camp.

  • Fancy threads

    Your finest festival sparkles or doof threads, whatever makes you feel most fabulous.

  • Snacks & water

    We've got main meals covered, bring snacks for in between. If you're camping, bring extra water.

  • Swimmers

    For a soak in the hot tub between dance floor sessions. Bring a towel or a robe too!

  • Decor

    Got cool rugs, lamps, pillows or fabric? Bring them to add to the ambience!

  • Cup

    BYO cup for all weekend refreshments. We'll have spare cups on hand for those new to the tradition.

  • A hammock

    We love to relax between trees. If you own a hammock, please bring it! There is plenty of space.
